Edward Finez | Published: June 05, 2026
Abstract: The performance of Pangapisan Integrated School in the National AchievementrnTest (NAT) in Grade Six has been very low. In the past five years, the schools MeanrnPercentage Score (MPS) in Mathematics was within the range of 40 %- to 60 %. Basedrnon the NAT results in Grade Six for SY 2014-2015, with an MPS of 57.28%. PangapisanrnIntegrated School was placed at the tails of the distribution curve in Mathematics. Thisrnrnshowed that the school has low Mathematics numeracy. The purpose of this quasi-rnexperimental research is to determine if using Intermixing Easy and ChallengingrnrnComputation Problems Strategy (IECCPS) in teaching Mathematics would help 30rnGrade Six pupils increase their Mathematical skills in solving fractions and raise testrnrnscores in Mathematics. The intervention measurement tools used were the pre and post-rntest for data collection. Moreover, tools for analysis were the average weighed mean andrnrnpaired T-test and illustrated through tables and graphs with further explanations. Thernresearch found pupils to be more engaged in the learning process and raised test scoresrnas a result of the strategy introduced in the classroom. This indicated that the IECCPSrnimproved pupil’s performance in solving fractions.

Leah Surot , Jennifer Paras | Published: June 05, 2026
Abstract: This action research was conducted to support the implementation of Inclusive Educationrnin public schools with SPED Centers. This research assessed the level of knowledge, skills, rnattitudes and values (KSAV) of 17 receiving teachers of West Central Elementary School I,rnDagupan City for School Year 2017-1018. In the pre-survey using the Tool in Gauging thernLevel of KSAV of Receiving Teachers, it was found out that the general self-evaluation wasrnSlightly Low. An intervention strategy was developed and conducted in the form of SPED-LACrnsessions. The tool was administered again as post-survey and the results showed that the level ofrnKSAV have increased to High. Demonstration teaching was also conducted by two receivingrnteachers, specifically in handling a visually impaired learner and two hearing impaired learnersrnin inclusive classroom setup. Both teachers have particularly shown improvement in their levelrnof KSAV based from the evaluation of the school principal and teacher-observers. This actionrnresearch was so beneficial to our receiving teachers and our LSENs in the full implementation ofrninclusive education in our school. It is highly recommended that this study be replicated in allrnpublic schools with SPED Centers to give equal access to LSENs in an inclusive setting.

Victor Corpuz, Rosario Cabrera | Published: December 01, 2020
Abstract: This study dealt primarily on the socio-demographic predictors of success in thernPrincipals’ Test in the Schools Division of Urdaneta City. There were 145 participants ofrnrnthe study. They were the 27 Principals’ Test passers and 118 Principals’ Test non-rnpassers. The data were obtained through the use of the researcher-formulatedrnrnquestionnaire. Using descriptive statistics, it was found out that majority of the passersrnwere male, with ages from 31-40 years old, married with one child, graduate ofrneducation-related courses in private colleges/universities, head teachers with a salaryrngrade of 16, and had been in the service for 11-20 years. It was also found out that thernmain reasons why they take the Principals’ Test were the following: for professionalrngrowth and development, to gain financial increase/ advancement and they werernmotivated by colleagues, friends and families. Using binary logistic regression, it wasrnfound out that the significant predictors of success in the Principals’ Test were numberrnof children, years in service before taking the test, position before taking the test, salaryrnbefore taking the test, and number of times taking the test. The study recommendedrnthat Principals’ Test takers should spend time everyday reading management booksrnand possible topics to be given in the test. They should enroll in graduate studies andrnattend seminars and trainings related to management/ leadership. They should alsornhelp/assist their principal in doing their works. Lastly, School heads and teachers shouldrnencourage and give moral support to their colleagues who will take the test.

View DetailsEffects of Explicit Instruction in Selected Lessons in Grade Five Science
Jonathan Salazar | Published: June 05, 2026
Abstract: Science is considered one of the most challenging subjects in class. This isrnevident by the results of the periodic tests where learners did not meet the passing rate.rnThis study investigated the effect of explicit instruction plus in selected lessons of Sciencernsubject of Grade Five pupils of Mangin-Tebeng Elementary School during the school yearrn2017-2018. All 75 Grade Five students were involved in the study. The experimentalrndesign was used with a validated teacher-made test as an instrument. The statistical toolsrnused were mean and t-test. The performance of the students in Science had improvedrnboth in controlled and experimental groups with a mean of 13.74 and 17.63 respectivelyrnafter the intervention was implemented. Meanwhile, there is no significant differencernbetween the pretest scores of the controlled and experimental groups as indicated by thernp-value of .887 at 5% level of significance. Further, there is a significant differencernbetween the post-test scores of the two groups (p=.000) at 5% level of significance. Thernresults implied that explicit instruction plus improved the performance of the learners inrnScience. Therefore, it is recommended that teachers who teach the same subject usernexplicit instruction because learners positively responded to it.
