Effectiveness of Analysis, Synthesis, Implementation (ASI) Activity Sheets in Enhancing the Mastery Skills of Grade 8 Students in Molecular Genetics

Abstract: This action research aimed to enhance the mastery skills of the grade 8 learners in molecular genetics by using the ASI activity sheets. The teacher-made learning resource was developed with an idea of developing the system thinking skills of the learners through creating conceptual models. The learners were grouped into two; the control group studied the lessons through watching learning videos and the experimental group worked on the ASI activity sheets. The learners in the experimental group went through three sequential levels; Analysis, Synthesis and Implementation as they answer the activity sheets. There were four activities prepared covering the Central Dogma in Molecular Genetics. The control group got a mean score difference of 8. 35. On the other hand, the experimental group achieved a higher mean which is 11.54. Moreover, both groups were classified as having Low Mastery (LM) in the competency but after the intervention the control group improved into Moving Towards Mastery (MTM) category and the experimental group have reached the category, Mastered. The results were statistically treated at 0.05 level of significance. It revealed that there is a significant difference in the performance level of the students in analyzing the vital role of DNA, RNA and proteins in the transmission of the hereditary traits through learning video and ASI activity sheet.\r\n-G.E. Abstract: The action research which is entitled "Leveled Technology-Mediated Activities (TMA): Its Effect in Improving Learner\'s Performance in Science 8-Chemistry" was conducted to improve the competency of Grade 8 learners in Chemistry. The leveled Technology- Mediated Activities (TMA) were utilized in the study with the thirty-three (33) learners from the experimental group of Grade 8 section 24 and thirty-six (36) learners from the control group of Grade 8 section 23 under the Basic Education Curriculum (BEC) program of Dagupan City National High School (DCNHS) fro S.Y. 2022-2023. The study made use of a quasi-experimental and control groups were computed to answer the problems of the study. Then the t-test was employed to determine the significant difference in the posttest mean scores of the learners from the two (2) groups.\r\nBased on the findings, the computed t-value of 11.5000 is higher than the tabular value of 1.997, which means that there is a significant difference between the mean score difference of the experimental group and the control group. This further means that the intervention using Leveled Technology-Mediated Activities (TMA) notably affected the performance of the target learners as they fared better in their proficiency level after utilizing the intervention.\r\nBased on thef indings, the leveled TMA is an innovative, appropriate instructional material that further improves the performance of the 21st learners.\r\nS.C. Abstract: Ang pananaliksik na ito ay may layuning mapaunlad ng kasanayan sa pagbabasa at pagsusulat sa paggawa ng mga mag-aaral lalong-lalo na sa mga mag-aaral sa ikalabing-isang baitang ng Pamabansang Mataas na Paaralan ng Lungsod ng Dagupan sa paggawa ng pananaliksik gamit ang worteks, dito ay makabubuo sila ng sariling pananaliksik. Sa pamamagitan ng pag-aaral na ito ay bumuo ng mananaliksik ng workteks, at ang mga tekstong ginagamit ay tumatampok sa mga batayang kaalaman sa paggawa ng pananaliksik. Gumamit ang mananaliksik ng pamaraang Deskriptib- Analitikal. Inilarawan ng mananaliksik ang mga tugon at pagsusuri ng mga guro sa workteks na kinabibilangan ng mga guro sa Pambansang Mataas na Paaralan ng Lungsod ng Dagupan.rn1. Sa resulta ng panimulang pagtataya mula sa isang daang (100) na mag-aaral, limampu (50) ang nasa pagkabigong antas, tatlumpu\'t anim (36) naman ang nasa pampagkatutong antas at labing- apat (14) ang nasa malayang anatas ng kasanayan sa pampagkatuto sa asignaturang Pagbasa at Pagsusuri ng Iba\'t-ibang teksto tungo sa pananaliksik.rn2. Sa isinagawa ng guro na panimula at panapos na pagtataya sa antas ng kasanayan sa pampagkatuto sa asignaturang Pagbasa at Pagsusuri ng Iba\'t-ibang teksto tungo sa Pananaliksik ng limampu (50) mag-aaral na nasa pagkabigong antas, apatnapu\'t isa (41) ang umakyat sa antas na malaya, at siya (9) ang napunta sa pampagkatutong antas.rn3. Abstract: Ang pananaliksik na ito ay may layuning maiangat at mapataas ang talasalitaan tungo sa mapang-unawang pagbasa sa pamamagitan ng ng pagpapagamit ng mobile application na Mapanghikayat na mga Aktibiti sa Bokabularyo (MAKBOK) App ng mga mag-aaral ng Grade 9. Nilayon rin ng pag-aaral na ito na mapataas ang kakayahan ng mga mag-aaral sa pang-unawa sa pagbasa sa pamamagitan ng pagpapaunlad o paghasa ng talasalitaan ng mga mag-aaral gamit ang dinebelop na app. Gumamit ang mananaliksik ng walumpong (80) mag-aaral na tagatugon sa pag-aaral na tumagal ng anim na buwan mula Pebrero 2023 hanggang Hulyo 2023. Idinukumento ng mananalaksik ang mababang kakayahan ng mga mag-aaral sa talasalitaan sa pamamagitan ng paggamit ng research tools tulad ng mga katanungan (survey questionaire) at pagsusulit (pre-test at post- test). Mula sa mga tools na ginagamit natuklasan ng mananaliksik na may mababang kakayahan ang mga mag-aaral sa talasalitaan. Paggamit ng app na MAKBOK tuwing magtatalakay ng paksa sa panitikan ang naging lunsaran ng mananaliksik upang mapataas ang kanilang kakayahan sa talasalitaan. Pagsagot sa mga validated na activitivy sheets ang paraan ng ebalwasyon. Lumabas sa pag-aaral na tumaas ang antas ng pagkatuo ng mga mag-aaral sa talasalitaan gamit ang istratehiyang nabanggit tungo sa mapang-unawang pagbasa.rnSa kabuuan, ang pananaliksik na ito ay nabing mabisa ang paggamit Mapanghikayat na mga Aktibiti sa Bokabularyo (MAKBOK) App sa pagpapanlad ng talasalitaan ng mga mag-aaral. Pagkatapos maimplementa ang interbensyong istratehiya, lumalabas sa resulta na nagkaroon ng pag-angat o pagtaas sa kakayahan ng mga mag-aaral sa pang-unawa ng mga talasalitaan na mas nakatulong sa pag-unawa sa kanilang binabasa. Pinatunayan ito sa pagbabago ng mean score ng mga mag-aaral pagkatapos ng post-test. Mula sa 28.39 ay naging 45.03 ang mean experimental group o may 15.44 puntos na pagtaas. Ipinakita rin sa resulta ng T-test na may significant na defirensang mga pangkat na ginamit sa pag-aaral. Base sa resulta, nagbigay ang mananaliksik ng konklosyun na nagsasabing nakatulong ang interbensyong paggamit ng mobile application.\r\n-J.C. Pangan

In the Contemporary society, predictions about life and work for coming decades are supposed to be made as a team through universal agreement and collaboration. Individuals are expected to move through several careers in the course of a lifetime.rn rnIn the 21st century, what matters most is the ability to create through effective use of technology and knowledge. Teachers and the learners as well as other professionals, must now incorporate the Technology Literacy which is the ability to use new media such as the internet to effectively access and communicate information in enhancing our knowledge and critical thinking skills.rnrnThe pandemic has resulted in enormous learning gaps for students nationwide. Teachers presently struggle to meet students where they are while simultaneously helping them close the pandemic-related learning gap. In order to meet the requirements of our various learners, teachers must use effective teaching tactics and procedures, particularly in the contemporary environment of the "new normal education."rnrnThe period leading up to the start of the new school year can be used to reinvent education, with teachers implementing intervention techniques to narrow the achievement gaps. This led the researcher in conducting the research entitled, "Enhancing the Learning Performance of Grade 8 Learners in Computer Systems Servicing Through WebQuest.rnrnThis study aimed to enhance the learning performance of Grade 8 learners in Computer Systems Servicing through WebQuest. The researcher used quasi- experimental research and was conducted at Judge Jose De Venecia Sr. Technical- Vocational Secondary School in November 2023 to January 2023 covering the 2nd quarter period of the school year 2022- 2023.rnrnThe research involved two sections of Grade 8 learners who are currently enrolled in Computer Systems Servicing 8. One (1) group of 48 students was taught through the traditional approach which is discussion and modular learning while the other group off 44 students was taught using WebQuest approach. Students were tested on their performance in setting- up computer network as one of the core competencies in CSS 8.rnrnTo determine the level of performance of Grade 8 CSS learners using WebQuest, data from the results of the pretest and posttest were collected. Using the validated teacher- made test, the T- test was utilized to assess the data from the posttest.rnrnThe students\' understanding and knowledge were definitely improved and enhanced after finishing the study. Results of the data through mean scores revealed that the performance learners to both groups increased from pretest to posttest. The pretest mean scores of the experimental group who were taught using WebQuest increased form 9.80 mean score in the pretest to 23.84 in the posttest. There was as improvement of 14.04 points. For the control group, the mean scores are 14.88 and 19.38 in the pretest and posttest.rnrnThe T-test statistical technique was used to determine the significant difference between the two groups of learners. Abstract: Problem-solving is a complex process that is helpful in real-life situations and is also crucial in the teaching and learning process related to science, mathematics, and even engineering fields (Hamilton et al., 2022). However, the problem-solving skills of the learners have been observed to be on the decline nowadays, especially in learning problem-solving related competencies.\r\nThis two-group pretest-posttest design aimed to assess the effectiveness of the Contextualized Problem-Based Strategy (CPBS) instructional video in enhancing the problem-solving skills of grade 9 learners. The study was conducted in a public high school in the Philippines with 50 grade 9 learners from section 9- 17 and 9- 18 under the Basic Education Curriculum School year 2022-2023. Twenty-five (25) participants were assigned to the experimental group using the CPBS instructional video, and 25 learners in the control group were assigned the conventional lecture method.\r\nThe data were collected using a pre-test and posttest problem-solving test. The study results showed that the experimental group significantly improved their problem-solving skills after being taught using the CPBS instructional video. The control group, on the other hand, did not show any significant improvement in their problem-solving skills.\r\nThe study\'s findings suggest that CPBS instructional video is an effective way to enhance the problem-solving skills of grade 9 learners. The video provides learners with a contextualized problem-solving experience that helps them develop their critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.\r\n-K.G. Gascon Jr.

Abstract: Isinagawa nag pananaliksik upang mapaunlad ang antas ng pangklaseng pakikilahok at bisa ng applikasyong classpoint sa pagpapataas ng pangklaseng pagkatuto ng mga mag-aaral sa grade 10. Gumamit ang mananaliksik ng classpoint bilang solusyon sa mahabang antas ng pangklaseng pakikilahok at pagkatuto ng mga mag-aaral. Gumamit ang mananaliksik ng observation sheet at pagsusulit sa pangangalap ng mga datos. Nakita ng mananaliksik ang pag-unlad sa pangklaseng pakikilahok mula sa mababang-mababang antas tungo sa mataas na antas. Umakyat ang antas ng kanilang pagkatuto mula average mastery tungo sa closely approximating mastery. Pinatunayan ito sa pagtaas ng mean score at mean percentile score ng mga mag-aaral pagkatapos ng posttest. Ipinakita sa resulta ng T-test na may makabuluhang pagkakaiba ang mga pangkat na ginamit sa pag-aaral. Nakapagtala ng labingwalong puntos (18.00) na test statistics (t-stat) at dalawang punto zero at dalawa (2.02) na t-critical para sa dalawang tails. Dahil sa mas mataas ang t-stat sa t-critical nangangahulugan ito na may makabuluhang pagkakaiba sa antas ng pangklaseng pakikilahok sa dalawang pangkat pagkatapos gamitan ng interbensyon. Ang kompyuted P-value na (0.00) ay mas mababa sa itinakdang zero puntos at lima (0.05) na level of significance, nangangahulugan ito ng pagtanggap ng mananaliksik sa alternatibong palagay na may makabuluhang pagkakaiba ang antas ng pangklaseng pakikilahok ng mga mag-aaral pagkatapos ng interbensyon. Bilang konklusiyon, nakatulong ang aplikasyong classpoint sa pagpapaunlad ng antas ng pangklaseng pakikilahok at pagtaas ng antas ng pagkatuto ng mga mag-aaral sa Filipino 10.

Abstract: The pandemic caused by Covid-19 greatly affected the delivery of quality education in our country. With no face to face interaction, the learning of science concepts was heavily affected due to lack of hands-on activities in science class. Addressing learning loss by students and low result of the last National Achievement Test, alternative instructional tools must be developed and utilized in science teaching so that learns would easily grasp science concepts in order for them to catch up and accelerate learning. Thus, the purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of PheET Interactive simulation as an instructional tool in teaching, in the performance and conceptual understanding of Grade 8 Molave students. The researcher utilized experimental method of research. A twenty- item validated pretest and posttest was given by the researcher as data gathering instrument. The mean score of each of the two groups was obtained from the results of the pretest and posttest. T-test was employed to determine if there is a significant difference between the level of performance of those students who were exposed to PhET Interactive simulation than those who were not. Based on the posttest result, the level of performance of students exposed to PhET Interactive simulation was higher than students taught with regular method of science teaching. Abstract: In order to assess the efficacy of EvalBee in evaluating the test results of junior high students at Dagupan City National High School for the academic year 2022-2024, a descriptive study conducted at the school was conducted. It focused on quickly and easily checking student test results, which could affect teachers\' productivity and proficiency. It made use of the Lund, A.M. (2001) USE Questionnaire, which measure usefulness, satisfaction, and ease use. As analysis tools, frequency count, percentage, and straightforward comparisons were employed. The EvalBee mobile app was found to be beneficial and efficient for teachers to utilize in quickly and accurately reviewing students\' test papers. However, there was no discernible difference between the several research factors that the research presented. Thus, it made a demand for more research to be done until positive outcomes were reached. The results are disseminated and more research is conducted using printed materials.\r\n-M.A.C. Gatchalian
