Abstract:
The best interest of the child should be the paramount consideration in makingrndecisions and actions involving children. This study aimed to determine the status ofrnimplementation of the Child Protection Policy (CPP) in the public secondary schools inrnthe City Division of Candon. Specifically, it sought to determine the profile of secondaryrnstudents; the degree of awareness about the Child Protection Policy (CPP); the degreernof implementation of the CPP; the degree of effectiveness on the effects of thernimplementation of CPP to the students; the degree of seriousness on the problems metrnin the implementation of the child protection policy; the output of implementation of CPPrnon the rights-based Child Friendly School System; and the significant relationshiprnrnbetween the status of the implementation of the CPP and the profile of the student-rnrespondents. The respondents perceived that they are ―Highly Aware‖ of the CPP. Inrnrnterms of the degree of implementation of the CPP, the respondents rated it as ―HighlyrnImplemented.‖ In the same way, CPP is perceived to be ―Highly Effective‖ when it comesrnto its effects to the students. All respondents agree that the degree of seriousness on thernproblem met in the implementation of CPP is ―Serious.‖ The output of implementation ofrnCPP on the Rights-based Child-Friendly School System is ―High‖.
