Abstract:
Work immersion (WI) is a program for SHS students to learn the desired competencies related to work, understand work ethics and be able to do employment simulations. The objective of the study was to determine the extent of implementation of work immersion program of the school. The research used descriptive method. The respondents consisted of 14 WI teachers, 23 industry partners, and 231 grade 12 students. Data were analyzed through frequency count, percentage, weighted mean, and simple linear correlation. The results of the study showed that WI is implemented to a very great extent. Female teachers tend to provide better work immersion delivery process, assess students’ progress, supervise work immersion, and address administrative concerns. Female industry partners tend to provide better compliance on curriculum implementation and administrative concerns while TVL industry partners provided better supervision of WI implementation. On the part of the students, the shorter the distance from home to school the better is the curriculum implementation and compliance. Therefore, it is concluded that the extent of implementation of WI in the school is to a very great extent. In order to address the concerns and problems encountered during the work immersion an action plan is hereby given for recommendation.
