Abstract:
This action research was focused on establishing the habit of pupils of Magsingal North Central School in disposing waste properly and responsibly. It aims to determine the effectiveness of the program on the volume of wastes collected along the corridors, pathways, lobbies and at the backyard of the school before and after its implementation. \r\nThe researchers sought permission from the Division Office thru the SGOD, and with the permission of Magdalena T. Lazo, Ed.D.- School Principal, the program was implemented continuously in 20 days. \r\nThe SPG officers consolidated the records/lists of litterers submitted by the classroom officers (Anti-litter Guards) who guarded the school grounds against litterers. After the first 10 days of continuous implementation of the program, the researchers have recorded approximately 22.1 kilos of segregated trashes. Similarly, on the 15th day of implementation, there was a significant effect of the program on the littering habit of pupils because the researchers have collected only approximately 8.2 kilos of segregated trashes and on the final five days of implementation, there was only about 1.8 kilos segregated trashes.\r\n Therefore, the Anti-Litter Guards Program, has a significant effect in developing the habit of pupils of Magsingal North Central school in disposing their garbage properly.
