Abstract:
Teachers’ professional development is a never-ending process that develops effective teaching skills, masters new knowledge and improves competency, all of which contribute to the achievement of high quality education. Moreover, teachers’ professional training is a necessary aspect in promoting effective teaching and improving and enhancing the overall quality of education. The study sought to assess the level of implementation of senior high school teachers’ training programs for school year 2016-2019. The research was limited to senior high school teachers in public secondary schools in SDO – Ilocos Sur. This study used the descriptive correlation design since it established associations between variables that utilized a questionnaire to assess the implementation of the teachers training program of the SDO Ilocos Sur. The researcher utilized stratified random sampling in selecting the 315 respondents.. Consequently, significant findings revealed that computed mean of 4.19 showed that there is a high level of implementation of the SHS Teachers’ training program. The study strongly recommends the maximum implementation of the SHS Training program to ensure better results in improving their morale, performance and engagement. Likewise, the policy recommendation is strongly recommended in the provision of better professional advancement and development to all senior high school teachers.
