Abstract:
This basic research investigated and discussed the life and career choices of incoming grade II learners of Lussoc National High School. The researchers used descriptive phenomenology design. Ten incoming grade 11 students of Lussoc National High School who will serve as key informants in this study. Furthermore, the researcher used purposive sampling where the inclusive criteria are as follows: (1) senior high school learners, (2) male or female, (3) living in the province of Ilocos Sur, and those who signed the informed consent. The research study used a questionnaire guide made by the researchers on the concepts of the future of the senior high school in the SDO Ilocos Sur. The reliability of the tool was established through checking the answers of the participants. Likewise, follow-up questions can be asked through an interview in order to completely capture the data. Narrative analysis was used in order to analyze the data gathered. \r\n The discussion revolved around the extent of life and career choices, challenges faced by the SHS learners in making career choices, the career guidance that can be implemented and the validity of the findings of the study. With these findings, three main categories emerged from this analysis:(1) looking for employment or to engage in a business venture. Difficulty in performing tasks (2) Taking risks (3) Financial problems. It is recommended that they continue to pursue high academic performance so that they will be ready for a challenging life in college, in, in looking for employment or to engage in a business.
