Abstract:
The work immersion (WI) program provides hands-on training or work simulation, that can help students in their career choices and improve employment prospects (Alcantara, 2019). Recent studies showed that the major weak points of work immersion (Acar, 2019), this, in turn, pave way for the researcher to examine the implementation of WI and revisit which aspects need to be improved.\r\nThe objectives of the study are to identify the extent of implementation of the WI program on curriculum implementation and compliance, WI delivery process, assessment of student’s progress, supervision and administrative concern, the level of effectiveness of the WI program, the level of satisfaction of students undergoing the WI program, and the problems and concerns encountered in the implementation of the WI. It utilized a descriptive research design through a survey questionnaire with 14 work immersion teachers 23 industry partners and 231 students. Data were analyzed through frequency count, percentage distribution, weighted mean, and simple linear analysis. Results showed a very high implementation of WI focusing on extreme effectiveness in delivery and satisfaction of students. Strands/specialization of students and distance from home to school has a significant relationship with the extent of implementation of WI. There is a moderate degree of seriousness on the inadequacy of resources and facilities as one of the problems encountered in the WI. Therefore, the findings suggested the continued implementation of the program and recommend enhancing more on the resources and facilities through additional industry partners and the Adopt the School Program.
