Abstract:
Magsingal North Central School has been an advocate of child and environmental friendly institution. The purpose of this action research was to determine the effectiveness of anti-litter guards in reducing the volume of wastes collected along corridors, pathways, lobbies, and at the backyard of the school. Similarly, it involved the classroom officers from kinder to grade six who served as the anti-litter guards and the SPG officers who consolidated the records/lists. Moreover, after the first 10 days of continuous implementation of the program, the researchers have recorded large amount of segregated trashes. Nevertheless, there was a significant decrease of collected segregated trashes on the 15th day of implementation. Finally, on the final five days to complete the 20 days of implementation, collected segregated trashes was very minimal. Therefore, this action research indicated that there was a significant effect in developing the habit of pupils of Magsingal North Central school in disposing their garbage properly. Therefore, the researchers highly recommended for the adoption of the program in all schools in Magsingal district. Similarly, other researchers can conduct further research study of this program for more quality output.
