Abstract:
Arising of digital technologies enhanced teaching-learning process. The use of videos in teaching and learning serves to not only benefit students, but also teachers and their affiliated institutions (Bevan, 2017). The study used the quantitative-experimental research design. Purposely, to find out the extent of gardening performance of agriculture students on vegetable production in the Simple Nutrient Addition Program hydroponic system using video tutorials. Total population/ enumeration technique was employed in selecting the respondents of the study to arrive at valid and reliable information in gathering of data. A Checklist was the main tool of gathering data in the study. Likewise, Post test results was used to find out the extent of gardening performances of the students such as excellent, very good, good, poor and unsatisfactory performances. Frequency count and mean measured the results for data analysis. In addition, Inferential statistics was used the t-test for independent means for two samples with unequal variances to determine the significant difference of the data. Fortunately, the performance on the extent of gardening performance of agriculture students in the Simple Nutrient Addition Program hydroponic system using the video tutorials is 4 and interpreted as very good. Therefore, video tutorial is effective as teaching strategy in teaching Simple Nutrient Addition Program hydroponics system. Moreover, digital technologies preferably video tutorial is recommended as strategy of teaching agriculture lessons for it benefits both the students and teachers.
