Abstract:
Behavior management is an element of education that can be one of the most frustrating aspects for educators, especially new teachers. The study aimed to identify the common behaviour problems manifested by the pupils in the public elementary schools in the schools Division of Ilocos Sur. Moreover, the research designed utilized in this research is descriptive developmental in nature. It involved the total enumeration of the primary grades teachers in Tagudin District, School Year 2017-2018 utilizing a research questionnaire with a validity of 4.86 to establish their extent of manifestation of classroom behaviour problems. Further, frequency count and mean were used to analysed the data collected. Significant findings revealed that the pupils manifested aggressive behaviour to a moderate extent. Nevertheless, the delinquent-behaviour problems manifested by the primary grades pupils were slightly serious in nature with an average mean of 2.46. Generally, concerns on classroom behaviors have a substantial impact on children’s emotional development, leading to emotional disorders. On the other hand, the measures undertaken to correct/ minimize the occurrence of classroom behaviour problems were generally much effective. As a result, there is a need to adopt the proposed behaviour management intervention plan to strengthen the partnership between the teachers, school administrators, guidance counsellors, and parents for the improvement of the pupils’ social, mental, psychological well-being.
