Abstract:
This action research study aimed to enhance the performance of kindergarten pupils in classifying objects through the implementation of Animated Instructional Dandaniw (AID). The study involved a static group comparison, with a control group and an experimental group, utilizing observations and pre-test and post-test assessments. The results revealed that, initially, both groups had a majority of learners in the "Developing" category, with some variability in scores. However, after the intervention, the Experimental Group, exposed to Animated Instructional Dandaniw, showed a significant improvement, with all learners achieving a "Consistent" level. Statistical analysis demonstrated a substantial difference in mean performance scores between the Control and Experimental groups, with the Experimental Group outperforming the Control Group. The AID intervention, integrating ICT and Ilokano poetry, proved effective in engaging learners and enhancing their object classification skills. The study suggests that innovative instructional methods, such as Animated Instructional Dandaniw, contribute to a more interactive and stimulating learning environment in early childhood education. Recommendations include providing teacher training in integrating animated instructional materials and encouraging parental involvement in reinforcing learning. Future research could explore the long-term effects of animated instructional dandaniw on cognitive development and academic performance.
